For those visitors who want to boat, or just take a swim, Oakridge is nationally recognized as having some of the clearest and purest lakes in the country. Visit Hills Creek Reservoir, Odell Lake or Crescent Lake for excellent water skiing, or try swimming in the pristine Waldo Lake.

Backpackers and hikers alike will be amazed at the amount of choices they have in Oakridge. Whether you are looking for a gentle stroll through fields brimming with wildflowers, or a challenging, technical trek through the mountains, there is a trail to fit your fancy.
Oakridge is just a few miles from the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and many wilderness areas in addition to the many trails around the city. Try the North Fork Trail, which extends 12 miles along the north fork of the Willamette River. This trail provides access to many beautiful views and deep pools for swimming.

In the winter months, you can experience some of the best skiing in Oregon at the Willamette Pass ski resort. Only 27 miles east of Oakridge, Willamette Pass has a summit elevation of 6,683 feet and offers 29 trials covering 550 acres of skiable terrain. During the summer the resort is open for hiking, disk golf and mountain biking.
